Four dental implants have emerged as a groundbreaking solution, offering the ideal blend of aesthetics, functionality and durability. Our practice caters to providing complex care for your individual and unique case in one facility so you can enjoy a new lease on life.

complete and immediate smile rehabilitation on four dental implants

This dental implant procedure is an advanced treatment designed to replace missing teeth. Unlike traditional implants that require one post per missing tooth, this dental implant procedure strategically places four titanium posts in the jawbone. These posts serve as a sturdy foundation for a full arch of prosthetic teeth, providing a more comprehensive restoration solution.

Our dental implant procedure treats cases with extensive tooth loss and offers a complete and immediate solution for most patients regardless of age, gender and dental condition. The dental implant procedure is performed with all teeth supported on four dental implants.

what are the benefits of this complete smile rehabilitation dental implant treatment?

  • Suitability for most patients — This dental implant procedure is highly inclusive, accommodating a wide range of patients. Even those with significant tooth loss or issues that traditionally preclude standard dental implants are considered to determine if they’re candidates for this procedure.
  • Permanent, functioning and beautiful teeth in a single procedure — Unlike traditional methods that may require multiple surgeries and an extended process, this treatment provides a permanent solution for missing teeth in just one procedure. This efficiency is particularly beneficial for patients seeking a quick and effective restoration of their dental function and aesthetics.
  • Minimised recovery period — Patients can start using their new teeth on the same day of the procedure. This immediate functionality is a significant advantage over traditional implants, where a waiting period is required for the implants to integrate with the bone.
  • The results are fixed and non-removable — Unlike dentures, which are removable and can sometimes be unstable or uncomfortable, these Sydney CBD dental implants are fixed in place, ensuring a stable and secure fit, enhancing both comfort and functionality.
  • A naturally-improved smile — The aesthetic outcome of this treatment is a natural-looking set of teeth for an improved smile.
  • Comfort and confidence in eating — Patients can enjoy a varied diet without the discomfort or restrictions often associated with dentures. The stability of our Sydney dental implants allows for a more natural eating experience.
  • Increased bite strength and chewing efficiency — Our Sydney dental implants restore near-natural bite strength, allowing patients to eat a wider range of foods, including harder or chewier items that may be challenging with dentures or damaged natural teeth.
  • No need for bone grafting — Traditional implants often require bone grafting if the patient has experienced significant bone loss. This treatment typically eliminates the need for such procedures, making it less invasive and more accessible to patients with varying dental histories.
  • Proven precision technique — The method used for these dental implants in Sydney is backed by substantial research and a track record of success. The precision of the technique ensures optimal placement of the implants, leading to better outcomes in terms of functionality, comfort and aesthetics.

how does it work?

Dental implants are made of biocompatible titanium and, once inserted into the bone with meticulous surgical technique, start forming a biological bond with bone tissue. Over the next few months, bone-forming cells adhere to the implant surface during the process of osseointegration, essentially becoming part of your body.

Recent advances in 3D scanning technology and dental implant surgical technique have allowed for the evolution of this extraordinary treatment alternative that allows immediate tooth replacement. Powerful implant planning software allows for extremely accurate diagnosis and surgical planning that creates a virtual model of the completed case and a precision surgical template guide that facilitates highly accurate implant placement and construction of the prosthesis. Your implants and new teeth can be fitted on the same day!

what’s involved?

  • Planning stage

We treat every case individually at Sydney Cosmetic Dentist and refuse to take a one-size-fits-all approach with our patients. Dr Lazaris will assess your dental condition and recommend the best treatment approach. Ideal candidates for these Sydney dental implants are those with significant tooth loss who seek a permanent solution. However, having good overall health and sufficient jawbone density to support the implants is crucial. Regular dental check-ups and good oral hygiene are essential for the success of the treatment. We will advise you of the expected dental implant cost if you require four dental implants.

The consultation and examination process involves a thorough clinical examination and a 3D CT scan to assess your condition and needs. This involves examining oral health, bone density and overall facial structure. The actual procedure is meticulously planned and executed with precision.

If this dental implant treatment is recommended for your needs, our dentist will take diagnostic impressions and photos to design your new smile and create your prosthesis.

Dr Lazaris then feeds the data from your 3D CT scan into specialised planning software and designs the implant placement protocols and positions. From these computer-generated images, a surgical template and a highly accurate mouth model facilitate the design and construction of the prosthesis that will be fitted on the day of your scheduled surgery.

  • Surgery stage

We begin the surgical phase by getting you prepared for the procedure. Our anaesthetist will make sure you are suitably sedated and comfortable so that you feel no discomfort during the surgery and have little or no memory of the procedure. Dr Lazaris will then administer local anaesthetic to ensure you are completely numb during the surgical phase of treatment.

Any remaining teeth (if present) are extracted with unhealthy or superfluous bone or soft tissue removed. The implants are then carefully inserted into the jaw bone in strategic positions and angulations using the precision surgical guide. These four implants are placed in areas of the jaw that typically have higher bone density, ensuring the longevity and stability of the implant. Sutures are then placed around the implant fixtures to facilitate rapid healing.

  • Prosthetic stage

The prosthesis is then anchored onto the implant fixtures by abutments and screw fixtures, and any final adjustments are made. Once you have suitably recovered from the sedation anaesthesia, you can go home, admire your new smile, and enjoy eating with your teeth!

what can i expect afterwards?

A certain degree of post-operative discomfort is expected and will be managed by anti-inflammatory medication and plenty of rest. This total rehabilitation dental implant treatment with immediate teeth replacement causes much less post-operative discomfort than traditional delayed implant treatment because there is only one procedure, and the sensitive gum tissues are not exposed to any pressure or movement.

In the weeks to months following surgery, your bone will form a bond with the implant surfaces (Osseointegration). It will mature to a permanent and strong adhesion with proper post-operative care. To ensure the success of this critical phase, we advise our patients to refrain from eating hard or crunchy foods and avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption for up to 3 months.

You will be required to attend review appointments over the next few months so that we can ensure that all is healing well and your mouth is comfortable and free from any infection.

Long-term treatment success depends on regular hygiene maintenance, including brushing, flossing, mouth rinses, and regular hygiene visits.

Why choose Dr Lazarus for your Sydney CBD dental implants?

Many dentists now advocate total rehabilitation smiles using four dental implants as a universal treatment for all cases, and this sets a dangerous precedent in modifying individual needs to suit a particular treatment rather than catering a treatment for the patient’s specific requirements.

Dr Lazaris takes a balanced approach to treatment planning, advocating patient-orientated treatment planning.

This attention to detail in every aspect of dental implant treatment has seen Dr Lazaris become one of Sydney’s most experienced dental implant practitioners. Having completed numerous cases with immediate Implant rehabilitation, his clinical expertise and artistry consistently achieve beautiful results for our clients.

In 2013, the highly popular series Embarrassing Bodies Down Under chose Dr Lazaris to treat two patients with highly complex implant treatments — the results were nothing short of amazing. Look out for Dr Lazaris in action in Episodes 4 and 8 on the Foxtel Lifestyle You Channel.
